Most of the navigation sites work by the Windows structure developed for maps in which under every map a next map can be placed with more specific information. The system of searching exists then from opening a map and subsequently opening the map below and the next map to find finally the specific information.
The disadvantage of this structure is that you do not know which maps you will find under the chosen map. Frequently must you first click on the maps to discover that other sub-maps appear then you expected. You have to return to a higher level and then you try a new map. At one sub-layer that works. But at dozens of sub-layers, that becomes terribly difficult.
Programmes such as Google have developed a question and answer system to find the requested subject. For simple questions, this works. But the real problem is to find the right searching terms. It is a profession to formulate the right searching terms.
Another problem is that for one searching term you will find hundreds of thousands not relevant sites. Mostly you have to wrestle by thousands of advertisements before you finally find what you are looking for, if you will find it. These problems are caused by the system that most searching engines use.
Startmatrix.net works differently. We work with matrix structures. Similar with the spreadsheets which you encounter in all kinds of programmes and databases and in programmes such as Excel, SPSS etc. the required information is to retrieve in the cross points of the rows and the columns. That cross point is called a cell.
Even the screen of a color television works by a matrix. Every point on the screen is determined by the position in the row and the column. If a person is presented on a television screen, his left middle finger e.g. is easily to find and to present by the number of the row and the number of the column in a matrix system.
So it is easily to find back the person's middle finger on the screen by only two numbers. Imagine that you had to describe the middle finger by searching terms and find the middle finger back in a searching engine by using the colors and the shapes of the middle finger. Hundreds of thousands of pages would appear with possible positions of the middle finger.
Or you would use a map system like windows does and you had to try to find the right map, hundred levels down in the system. It would take a few days to find that middle finger back, because if you use e.g. hundred levels, you have to make the right choise at every level. If you follow the wrong branch, you will find that you are wrong only if you come at the end and you have to go back to the top again and try again. A matrix system works much more efficient.
Example: You have ten thousand of searching terms from which you have to find one term. In the system of maps you firstly have to divide the searching terms in groups of 10 containing each 1000 searching terms. Then you divide these thousand searching terms in 10 sub-maps of each 100 searching terms. Finally you divide these 100 searching terms in 10 sub-sub-maps of each 10 searching terms.
That seems simple. But if you see after the third click that you are incorrectly, you must go back to the top level and try it again. There are thousands of branches and it will take a long time before you reacht finally the right branch.
Startmatrix.net works as follows. On the first page you will find matrix with a range of 10 rows and 10 columns. So you will have 100 choises on the first page already. From this page you make your choise to the next page with another hundred choises, dived in ten rows and ten columns. There you find already your final choise. If you have choosen the wrong cell, you only have to go up one level instead of three. That saves a lot of time. With one click you already back in the top of the matrix system.
